Hey guys!

First off - thank you for attending my workshop. I'm so stoked that you guys came through. I had a great time with you, and I'm hoping you did too.

Second: I did mention before that I'd send you a massive list of stuff, so get ready for all of that.

Finally: At the bottom of this page is a feedback form. This is here to help me find out how you experienced the workshop. So if you have a couple of minutes, I'd appreciate it!

All the good stuff:

--------------------------------

My TED Talk

Link

Confidence. Remember on Day 1 we spoke about confidence? This TED talk is about how I worked on that, and I told you some of this at the workshop, the TED talk is the full deal.

--------------------------------

Web Services:

--------------------------------

Calendly

Link

Meeting scheduling, automated. I use this a million times a month.

--------------------------------

WhenWorks

Link

Just like Calendly, but slightly different. Just as good, but the packages are different. Check it!

--------------------------------

Inbox By Google

Link

It's like Gmail, but I prefer this. It's got some bells and whistles that I prefer. You can also use this with a non-gmail account.

--------------------------------

Gsuite (AKA Google Apps)

Link

This allows you to use Google's business products. So you can have all Google products like Gmail, Calendar, Docs, etc, tied to a non Gmail account and have it function as well as gmail accounts. No more servers, no more DNS, blah blah blah. $5 a month per user. Worth it's weight in gold. Doesn't weigh anything though, so I guess that's awkward.

--------------------------------

Wave

Link

Really great invoicing system. I've been on this for no less than 6 years. And it's free.

--------------------------------

Social Media Stuff

--------------------------------

PhotobizXposed Facebook Ad Course

Link

1 Hour into this course and I had already made my money back. This course is effing amazing.

--------------------------------

FB Messenger Course ($100 off for you!)

Link

First of all - this guy has been having so many issues with his site. Some days it's down, some days it's up. Be graciuous. Haha.

Anyway, this is the ManyChat course I mentioned on the day we did the FB Messenger stuff. Literally 20 minutes into this course and my mind was shattered. The price will still say $290 but as soon as you get to checkout, it'll show the $100 discount.

--------------------------------

Later

Link

Scheduling, feed planning, and analytics for Instagram. SUPER great service.

--------------------------------

Umum

Link

Another instagram tool. I haven't used this one myself, but a few people at the workshop recommended it.

--------------------------------

Focalmark

Link

Hashtag generator. There are android and iOS apps for this as well.

--------------------------------

Desktop Apps

--------------------------------

JPEG Mini

Link

$29 or $99.

Best JPEG compression around. I use this literally every day of my life. Reduces file size by like 80% or something bonkers like that, with no compromise on image quality. $29 for the Basic one, and $99 for the pro. I thought it was more expensive! Pro allows compression of higher resolution files, and it's got Lightroom and Photoshop plugins.

--------------------------------

Keyboard Maestro

Link

$36

This is a Macro building app, and I use it to control Lightroom. It's not MEANT for that, but it can certainly be used for that. You can use it to automate a zillion things on your mac, though. This one is complicated, so proceed with caution.

--------------------------------

aText

Link

$5 once off (Mac Only)

Best $5 you'll ever spend in your life. In fact, stop reading this and go buy it right now. Stop reading. You're still reading.

Anyway, it allows you to type massive amounts of predefined text, using your own little shortcuts. I use this for client emails that I send frequently.

--------------------------------

TextExpander

Link

Like aText, but this one has a Windows app too, but it's like $3 or $4 a month. How about not.

--------------------------------

AutoHotkey

Link

I used this as a replacement for aText and TextExpander on the Windows side. It's WAY less user friendly, and requires actual programming, but it's free, and about 15 million times more powerful if you're willing to invest the 10 thousand hours it'll take to learn how to program it. It's worth selling your PC and buying a mac just so that you can buy aText. Seriously, stop reading and go buy aText.

--------------------------------

Carbon Copy Cloner

Link

$40

Automatic File Backup. Mac Only. Definitely my favourite way to handle all the backing up I need to do.

--------------------------------

Bvckup2

Link

$20

Basically a Carbon Copy Cloner for Windows, but less bells and whistles, but also pretty much JUST as powerful

--------------------------------

Mobile Apps

Rise

Link

Free

iOS app to calculate sunrise and sunset. There are a million of these, so good for others, and for an android app too.

--------------------------------

Other Stuff

Reddit Stuff

I can't stress the importance of building reddit into your daily life. I hate social media, but as far as I'm concerned, Reddit should be a daily, because there are entire communities of THOUSANDS of people who are talking about ONE subject. And then there's a different community of THOUSANDS of DIFFERENT people speaking about THAT subject. And each of these generally has industry professionals willing to share their secrets. I search reddit more than I search google. For real.

I mentioned using reddit for advertising and marketing. Here are the subreddits I browse for that:

r/socialmedia

r/marketing

r/facebook

It would be a good idea to visit these subreddits (a subreddit is a community on reddit) at least a few times a week so that you can keep up with the changes on how to use and advertise on facebook and instagram. Like I said, make reddit a daily, even for OTHER things. I personally also subscribe to subreddits about important stuff like the subreddits above, but I also subscribe to subreddits that contain nothing but GIFs of baby elephants. Here's a link, you're welcome. So you can use it as a means to learn loads of stuff, but it's also just a great place for literally anything else you may be interested in.

My Copywriter

Her name is Shae, and she's wonderful. Her number is 073 361 7969. The bio she wrote for me made me want to hire me.

--------------------------------

Screen Calibration

Link

This is an ABSOLUTE MUST. No excuses. If you want to be a photographer, a screen calibrator is as important as a camera. Get yourself a Color Munki or a Spyder. They're both great. And recalibrate every 2 weeks or so.

--------------------------------

Loupedeck

Link

I think these are like R4500 now, and I can hook you up with a 10% discount. Just let me know. This thing speeds up your editing like CRAZY. You can see the review I did about it right here.

--------------------------------

Books

Honestly, you should just read all of these immediately. Get the audiobooks if you don't like reading.

The Lost Art Of Closing

Link

Straight up Sales book. This thing was worth the spend within the first 2 hours of listening to it. It's ESPECIALLY valuable if you want to rock it at your meetings.

--------------------------------

How To Win Friends and Influence People

Link

If you have a pulse, you need to read this book. Even if not for your business, read it just for yourself.

--------------------------------

The Like Switch

Link

Basically just teaches you how to be better with people. How to give off the right body language, how to avoid bad language, and how you speak influences your conversations and social experiences on a subconscious level.

--------------------------------

Influence: The Psychology of Pursuasion

Link

Just read it.

--------------------------------

Once you've read those, hit me up. I've got another 6 or 7 that are just as good. These are more important though. Haha.

My 1-on-1 Workshops (discount for YOU)

I teach 1-on-1 workshops that are literally tailored for you. You let me know what you'd like to go over, and we'll crush it. Usually, these are R1500 for the first hour, and R1000 for every hour after that. You get 50% off that price though.

Workflow

You guys all seemed to love the workflow stuff that we did on Day 3. If you'd like me to build a workflow for you to help you manage stuff the way I've got it set up, let me know. It won't be free, unfortunately, but I won't rip you a new one. Haha.

Finally

I did my best at this year's workshop. I wanted them to be really good. I tried super hard to make sure that the venue was something beautiful. Overall, I'm stoked with how it went down. In hindsight, I feel like both days were too long. That being said, there's NOTHING that I thought I'd be happy to leave out, so I'm struggling to manage that. I'll figure it out.
I want to be a better teacher, and I want my workshops to be even better in the future. The only way I can do that is if you tell me what you thought of the workshop - the good AND the bad. None of this information will be seen by anyone except myself.

If you'd be so kind as to fill out the form below to let me know how you found the workshop, I'd appreciate that.

Which Workshop did you attend? *

As promised, here's a link to where you can download the presentations I used throughout the workshop. I'd REALLY appreciate it if you kept this to yourself, otherwise the people I COULD be teaching in the future won't come to my workshops. I supplied the presentations in PDF format.

DOWNLOAD

I don't know if you'll remember this, but I mentioned on Day 2 that I had a whole section on Time Management, both in your personal life, and in your business. I chose to cut that section, because I didn't think we'd have time. I've attached that section to the end of the Day 2 presentation. None of it will really make much sense, though. I would highly, HIGHLY suggest you book a 1-on-1 with me so that we can go over this stuff. Proper Time Management did more for my life as a human, and as a business owner than any other tool. So do it!

And then, just a couple more things:

  1. I would ENCOURAGE YOU to use the images to shot at the workshop for your portfolio, as well as for your social media marketing. Those images are yours - use them to generate work for yourself!
  2. As mentioned before - I'd really appreciate it if you sent some images through to me. Some of you have already sent me some of your images, and I've LOVED receiving them. It's so great to look at what you guys managed to shoot on the day. I'll be throwing a blog post together with some of those shots soon. I've been wanting to do it sooner, but I've been so busy.
  3. Furthermore, if you happened to shoot some Behind-the-scenes type shots, I would REALLY appreciate those too.

Should you post on social media, here are the names of the models, venue, etc. You can literally copy/paste this to your posts:

Pretoria:

Models: @sean_oosthuizen and @5hannon21

Makeup: @missymakeupartist

Venue: @shepstone_gardens

Dress: @marlizemeeding

Assistant: @warrencarrol_

Lighting Gear: @camerastuff_shop

if you could #ettventerworkshops on these, that would be great!

And finally - if you'd like to be notified about any of my future workshops, videos, etc, please sign up for my mailing list below. Don't worry, I won't spam you with content every day.

Keep well,
